Lumi

Remote control, without the scary part

Lumi thinking

Letting a robot shut down your laptop from another room is fun - as long as nobody else can. Here's exactly how Lumi keeps it yours.

Only you

  • Your devices talk through your own Lumi account. Every message is locked to your account, so no other account can read or send anything to your computers.
  • Each computer has its own switch - “Let my phone and my other computers control this computer” - and it's off until you turn it on, on that computer.
  • Every remote action shows a little “📱 Remote: …” bubble on the computer it happens on.

No surprises

  • Restart and shut down always wait 30 seconds with a Cancel button.
  • A command older than 2 minutes is ignored. If you tap “shut down” while the AIO is off, it won't suddenly switch off hours later when you turn it on.
  • Whole tasks (“open YouTube and…”) also need Settings → Privacy → Let Lumi control my computer on that computer, and Lumi asks before sending, posting, buying or deleting anything.
  • On Android phones Lumi never opens banking or payment apps and never types passwords or PINs.

What's stored, and for how long

  • Each computer shares its name, kind, Lumi version and battery level with your account so your phone can list it.
  • Messages between your own devices are kept for 3 days, then deleted automatically.
  • A screenshot is taken and sent only when you press “Screenshot”.
  • Android control talks directly to your phone on your own network - nothing about it is sent to us.
